A picture book entitled Sōmoku Kachō Zufu (i.e., Picture Album of Plants, Flowers and Birds) included no information about its publication date, publisher or artist. Its twenty-four pictures are shown in this gallery. Click on a picture to enlarge it. The artist drew the shapes of flowers and birds accurately but their colors were not always true to life. A unique feature of this picture book is the round picture format.
